From Founder Clem Balfour
“So many of my favourite memories are from gathering around a table, sharing food, drinks and conversation with people I have known for years, or someone I have just met that day. This memory becomes even more powerful when movement is involved, that deep connection you get from practising yoga in a room full of people. I have seen it happen hundreds of times, guests walk into the room as strangers then they practise yoga, breathing together side by side and this brings down invisible barriers. Conversations flow and continue over a delicious meal, numbers are swapped and friendships are made.
This is where the beauty and the essence of the Yoga Brunch Club community exists.”
Story
The idea came from a desire to create a space where people would never feel intimidated to enter a class, even if you are a complete novice to yoga. Both the yoga and brunch elements are equally important to the success of the day. Collaborating with hand-picked chefs to create exclusive menus for each event, using the freshest seasonal ingredients to create nourishing, memorable meals. Clem spent much of her childhood living abroad, so each brunch club showcases different flavours from all over the world.
Coming from an events background, CIem has practised yoga for over a decade now. In her twenties, Clem was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (which is now thankfully in remission). Yoga has been a crucial part of her recovery. CIem first trained in vinyasa flow in South India before coming back to London to continue practising and teaching. She is now based in the lovely city of Bristol where she teaches and runs the business.
